最近看李碧華的散文, 有提及牛油果和牛奶果, 我原以為這是牛奶果, 所以買來一試.
其實不是. 牛奶果是越南水果, 綠色硬皮白肉的.
這水果名叫 " Indonesia Salak", 中文真是不懂怎譯, 屬於熱帶水果, 我在香港時都未見過. 外表是一層好像蛇皮的軟鱗片, 用刀輕輕切, 表皮便開, 肉心白色有核, 味道清淡爽口, 水和糖份都不高. 買回來後, 最好等兩三天才吃, 味道會更濃. 牛油果, 香蕉等亦然. 查看Wiki, 這是生於印尼棕櫚樹的果實.
Recently, I read Lillian Lee's book. She mentioned about Avocado and Vietnam Milk Fruit in her article. I thought that one is Milk Fruit, so I brought it for a trial. I found it is not Vietnam Milk Fruit, which should have greenish hard skin.
This is Indonesia Salak. I don't know the Chinese name. This kind of tropical fruit I haven't seen in H.K. The outer skin looks like snakes' scale, but soft and easily open with a kinfe. The flesh is white and has a big brown seed. It contains low water and sugar, so the taste is not rich and juicy. It's better wait for few days to eat after buying, like avocado and banana, the taste will become richer. Look for Wiki, this is a fruit of a particular Palm tree in Indonesia.
